311 Call Center

311 Call Center was converted in 2008 from Mayor Byron Browns Call and Resolution  Center. It serves an important public safety role; steering non emergency calls away from 911,  preserving the emergency system for callers truly in need of emergency services. It is designed to be a “one stop shopping” center for access to all of the City of Buffalo’s city services and information and non-emergency police services. Residents can call 311 to report service needs, check the status of previous service requests, obtain information regarding city programs or events and take care of non-emergency police matters. With the designation of a single number, it provides a centralized mechanism for assisting block clubs and residents, while making city government more responsive and efficient.
